Kathryn Gastelum, a native of Tucson, Arizona received a BFA from the University of Arizona in Graphic Design- 1986. During college she studied in Paris, France for both Art & Art History while traveling to surrounding countries. Today, traveling coast to coast and trips to Europe continue to be the greatest inspiration for art.
Kathryn worked in Advertising as a Media Buyer for radio and print until raising a family became most important. Always passionate about art and the desire to expand her education in art & design, she completed her education for Interior Design at the Arizona Institute of Interior Design, later becoming affliated with ASID, the American Society of Interior Designers, as an Allied Member. Kathryn joined her husband/Architect-Builder in 2002 as the Interior Designer for their business Centerline Design & Interiors... where many beautiful, custom homes and timeless interiors have been created.
Kathryn's inspiration is found in our amazing Southwest sunsets, classic jazz music, travel and finding simple beauty in anything, anywhere and everywhere.. from the wine glasses on a bistro table, doves nestled on a wire to sand dunes and Bedoins of the Sahara desert. Color and composition truly inspires her soul intention and the next improvisation in color.
Kathryn's commitment to painting is imperative. Her large, brilliant, colorful art work ranges from abstraction to realism in oil, acrylic and encaustic mediums...and a new venture into hand painted silk scarves.
All a creative expression of her spirit and soul, to share with you.
Take time, to see the beauty around you.
